Capturing Motion In Orange County Photography

An Orange County photographer will likely be asked to photograph many different things over the course of their career. Everything from family portraits to graduation pictures and even a new baby are all standard photographs for just about any photographer. While many Orange County photographers are adept at capturing still images only the most experienced are able to capture pictures that convey motion efficiently. Things like sports photographs and even wedding photographs often require an Orange County photographer to utilize skills that they don't use when taking still images for their clients.

Examples Of Motion Capture:
  • Sports photographs
  • Nature photographs
  • Scenic landscapes
  • Dancing photographs
  • Outdoor photographs
Orange County photographers can use two different techniques to capture motion. Freezing obvious motion and motion blur when applied properly can create beautiful and masterful photographs. Of course hiring the right Orange County photographer is the only way to ensure those techniques are applied properly and sometimes at all!

Orange County Photographers Attends Town Hall Meeting To Watch Meg Whitman Speak

Recently the staff of Treasured Moments Photography attended a town hall meetings to see Meg Whitman speak on September 16th. Meg spoke at a company called Cristek Connectors which in and of itself is quite a story. Christie the owner started the company when she was 25 years old and they've been making military connectors ever since. “Meg is the real deal,” said Cristi Cristich, who is the CEO and founder of Cristek Interconnects, Inc. “(She) creates jobs and gets people back to work.” “I want to make California competitive again. We are not going to be out-competed by anyone,” Whitman said at one point during her speech.

The Orange County photographers had a great time listening to Meg about the plans she has. Of course during the event these Orange County photographers snapped several pictures of the event and of its speakers. The following images or from this event.

Orange County Photographers Shoot The DaVinci Robot

Recently Treasured Moments Photography and its staff of Orange County photographers was privileged enough to work with Sue Eiler, chief operations officer of Orange County Urology. Together with her project manager Scott Olsen of Medical Media Relations and Xlogic Design they put together a fantastic newsletter to send out to the medical community.

The Orange County photographers of Treasured Moments Photography were asked to photograph an amazing piece of surgical appointment called the DaVinci robot. Dr. Moses Kim met the Orange County photographers in one of the operating suites at Mission Hospital on a Saturday morning to do this. Dr. Kim gave the staff a surgical demonstration in which he controlled the robot, a robot which makes surgery for patients much less invasive. Additionally the robot cuts down on bleeding and incision sizes which makes for quicker recoveries.

The staff at Treasured Moments Photography found themselves both elated and impressed with the surgical equipment as well as Dr. Kim's demonstration. The staff of Treasured Moments Photography feels honored to have been invited to such a photo shoot and looks forward to hearing more of the DaVinci Robot in the months and years to come.

Preparing For A Wedding Shoot: Pre-visualization, Preparation, And Execution

There is a lot of consideration as well as preparation that goes into planning an Orange County wedding photography session. A professional photographer will not only have to spend considerable time interviewing the bride and groom to be but will need to spend an equal amount of time taking the information they received during that interview and using it to formulate a plan of action for the wedding day. The most skilled and efficient Orange County wedding photographers will spend the weeks and months prior to and event determining exactly whom to photograph, when to do it, and determine the best locations for shots.  They will then implement these plans which deal with both the planned and unplanned occurrences at a wedding.

The Best Orange County Wedding Photographers Will:
  • Use their intuition and imagination to help capture the unexpected and candid at a wedding.
  • Have several different plans in place for your wedding. This will ensure they miss nothing and are prepared for the unexpected.
  • Pre-visualize on the fly during a wedding enabling him/her to make adjustments quickly as needed. They will be thinking of where and how to take the next picture while in the process of taking one.
  • Take a less structured and more open approach to wedding photography by simply following guest, the wedding party, and family around during the event to capture moments not possible through conventional photography.
Regardless of what type of wedding photography you'd like to employ in your wedding you can be certain that any photographer that employs these styles and is thorough in the pre-visualizing of your event will produce only the highest quality wedding photographs, photographs that will be cherished for a lifetime. Should you have any questions about Orange County wedding photography or would like to book your wedding please contact Carol Bridges!

Tips For Taking Great Orange County Pregnancy Photographs

When it comes to Orange County pregnancy photography there a lot of do's and don'ts. Many people either want to oversimplify or overcomplicate the pregnancy photography process which generally yields pictures of a lower quality or pictures that focus on other things other than the mother to be. If you keep the following things in mind when you go for an Orange County pregnancy photography session, you'll find that the results produced phenomenal pictures.

Tips for Taking Great Orange County Pregnancy Photography Shots
  • Consider having pictures taken of you somewhere in the outdoors. There's something special that translates well into photographs about the beauty of a woman who is ready to bring new life into the world standing in the great outdoors. With the right backdrop like a sunset or sunrise you'll have pictures you be proud of for a lifetime.
  • Many pregnant women opt to have their Orange County pregnancy photographs taken in a professional studio. While a studio offers a number of advantages pregnant women should consider having photographs taken in their own home by a professional Orange County pregnancy photographer. People are most comfortable in their home and people who are comfortable make for some of the best pictures. Being in familiar surroundings as well as cherished ones will help you and your children look back on these photographs with many fond memories.
  • Keeping things simple is a good idea when it comes Orange County pregnancy photography. Regardless of where you shoot be it at a professional studio, home, outdoors, or even the local grocery store, you don't want to much going on in the backgrounds of images because the focus should remain on the miracle of a new life itself. Don't oversimplify but keep things simple enough to where there isn't a lot of set up or elaborate schemes.
  • Although many women opt to have Orange County pregnancy photographs taken by themselves they should seriously consider including the father of the child in these photographs. Including him in at least some of these not only adds something special to photograph for the child later but it showcases the tender relationship that exists between mother and father as well as the love between them that produced the child.
  • One other thing pregnant women should consider when they're preparing to have Orange County pregnancy photographs taken is to include not only the father of the child but siblings as well. This is a great way to showcase the type and the amount of love that this new baby will be making his/her way into after they are born.

Orange County Family Photography & Summer

Different times of the year make for different types of photographs and while some seasons make for better pictures than others there is no better season than summer for family photographs. Orange County family photographer Carol Bridges, in her many years of experience, has seen families select summer more than any other time of year to have things like family portraits done. This is because the weather is warm, kids are home from school and many parents choose to use vacation time during the summer season. Summer is also a popular time for Orange County family photography because it's long days not only give families and photographers more time but it also allows for outdoor photographs and some very beautiful backdrops. An Orange County family photographer like Carol bridges routinely travels to the location of her clients choice and photographs families at places like parks, beaches, yards, and just about any other location you can imagine.

4th of July Fireworks Photo Tips

With the 4th of July coming tomorrow, well soon gather to watch local fireworks shows. Bring your digital point and shoot or SLR camera along this year and with the following tips you can capture some impressive images.

  1. Make sure that you are not downwind of the show. If you are, you'll be taking pictures of smoke not fireworks.
  2. If you have a tripod you will want to bring that along. Shooting on a tripod allows you to capture longer exposures without moving the camera.
  3. A self timer works best. Even the slightest movement from your hand depressing the shutter release on the camera can cause a picture to be blurry.
  4. Set up your camera property. First make sure the flash is turned off. Then, if your camera allows you to set your shutter speed, try experimenting with long exposures. Try a 3, 5, and 10 second exposure to see what you get. Typically, you'll be better off using a long exposure for the individual fireworks and a shorter exposure for the grand finale (since there is so much light in the sky with all the bursts.) Remember that the longer the exposure, the more of a trail you'll see for each burst and the more likely you're to catch multiple bursts in one image.
Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Orange County Wedding Photography: Breaking The Tradition

When one searches for or views wedding photography there are certain common aspects and traits to the photographs regardless of which Orange County photographer has snapped the pictures. Those brides and grooms who want to take wedding photography to the next level are often left with little to no options as most Orange County wedding photographers provide just your standard run-of-the-mill wedding photography services. There are a few photographers however who not only offer "alternative" wedding photography services but also have vast experience in taking wedding photography to a level that few others do or are capable of. This unique approach to photography is known as "Trash the Dress".  After the wedding is said and done the bride and groom take photos is the most off the wall places.

Take Your Photography Session to the Next Level:
  • Bride and groom diving into a pool, the ocean, or some other body of water while still in their wedding garb.
  • Photos taken on the beach in wedding garments except your in the water or rolling around in the sand
  • Strolling through the city or abandoned building
  • Rooftop of old building
These are options that are unique and not what you would usually see in a wedding album. If you are looking for unconventional photography session after the wedding Treasured Moments Photography can help!

Orange County Photographer Recognized And Honored For Her Volunteer Work

Back in December of 2009 Orange County photographer Carol Bridges volunteered her time and services to the Winter Wonderland event which benefited families of those who serve in the United States military. The event itself was a huge success and there were many families who benefited from Carol's kindheartedness. As a result of her willingness to give back and great work in December of last year the Orange County photographer has been honored by the Rancho Santa Margarita city Council.

In the council chamber it was standing room only last Wednesday night as nearly 100 people arrived for a number of student and volunteer recognitions of which Carol was one of them. The Orange County photographer was recognized for taking photos of children with Santa and providing each family with 5 x 7 prints of those photo shoots. Carol remains proud of her volunteer work and continues to express a great happiness in being able to help members of her community through difficult times especially during the holidays. The pictures she took not only pleased children but gave parents both here and abroad something to smile at during the holiday season.

Carol was extremely grateful for the recognition the Rancho Santa Margarita city Council gave to her and anxiously looks forward to donating more of her time to a worthwhile and local cause similar to the Winter Wonderland event she has been recognized for. SPRING FLING WITH TREASURED MOMENTS

We at Treasured Moments PHotography have been very busy in the community. Last weekend was Spring Fling in the city of Rancho Santa Margarita. It was all about children and spring and Easter. Treasured Moments PHotography had a studio set up for spring and LIVE bunnies for kids to hold and pet while having their photograph taken. It was soooo... much fun. I also had great help from Ali Graham and her friends. They were the Bunny Babysitters and helped the kids hold the bunnies. If it wasn't for them I would have been lost. They were great with the kids and the bunnies. The bunnies were all 4H bunnies that I borrowed and are all show bunnies. The twins in these photos were so adorable as they experienced their first easter bunnies

Orange County Photography: Tips And Tricks For Amateurs

If you're considering taking pictures yourself rather than hiring a professional Orange County photographer there a number of things that you want to keep in mind. These tips and tricks can help you produce pictures that are very close to professional quality. Of all the things to keep in mind however perhaps none are more important than lighting. That's because lighting does a number of things for pictures all of which are very important. Lighting can also be used to create moods and atmospheres for a photo shoot which ultimately enhances pictures and make special moments really stand out.

The following tips come from Orange County photographer Carol Bridges who states that lighting can make or break a photo shoot no matter whether the photo shoot is amateur in nature or professional.
  • While professional photographers use professional lighting the type of lighting employed by these people is rather expensive. Fortunately for the layperson there is a cheap and affordable yet high-quality alternative. Halogen work lights are not only widely available and affordable but also serve as adequate lighting for just about any type of photo shoot an amateur may partake in. If you find yourself in a pinch you can also use high watt incandescent lights as well. While these kinds of lights work great for amateur photo shoots and are affordable. There are some lights you should stay away from however. Fluorescent lighting will require a great deal of color correction during the development process and can drastically reduce the quality of pictures. Tinted lights should also be avoided unless you plan on photographing weird scenes or strange special effects.
  • In regards to setting up lighting for an amateur photo shoot, the process is actually quite simple. Temporary lighting can be set up or constructed on a filing cabinet, floor, or even a small table. You also want to remember that too little lighting even if used purposefully to create a specific mood for photographs can result in poor images that are not correctable even in photo editing software. Amateur photographers should also keep in mind that using too much lighting can lead to overexposure and the bleeding out of colors. These things too are often unrepairable in modern photo editing software. The setup of lighting needn't be a time consuming or difficult process and if it is for you, you may be doing too much or trying too hard. Just make sure that there is ample backlighting as well as foreground lighting and you should have no problems capturing great images.
  • Amateur photographers will also want to keep in mind that more often than not lighting from an angle works better than lighting directly behind or in front of whatever it is or whomever they're photographing. Lighting from an angle works much better because it does quite a bit to minimize shadows. While setting up your lighting move lights until the object your photographing looks great in the camera's viewfinder. If shadows are what you're after however use just one light.
While many people take the do-it-yourself approach when it comes to taking pictures, many turn to a professional Orange County photographer to ensure that they get only the best quality images. Should you have any questions regarding these tips and tricks please don't hesitate to contact Carol Bridges, an Orange County photographer and she'll be more than happy to help.

Orange County Family Photography By Treasured Moments

Orange County family photography is quite possibly one of the, if not the most popular type of photography. This is because children tend to grow up quickly and as everyone, including children, lead hectic lifestyles which makes having an entire family together for any length of time difficult. Parents will often take advantage of these rare moments however and schedule a photo shoot with an Orange County photographer for family photos. Some families have Orange County family photographs taken annually and some more often.

There are numerous occasions outside of the annual visit where families might want to see an Orange County family photographer. These range from holiday's to visits from rarely seen but loved relatives to family reunions. Other times families may simply want more than one picture taken of them per year. In any case Orange County family photography gives parents and other family members snapshots of precious, fleeting moments in time. These types of pictures often become family keepsakes as well and are sometimes passed down to children after they've grown up and had children of their own.
