Summertime Photography Fun!

Summer is here and it is a great time for Orange County Photography! It really is the perfect time of year for shooting photos if you think about it.... First of all, the kids are out of school! No trying to round up everyone on their busy school schedules. Second of all, you know you have been out in the sun so every one's faces are bound to have a little color on them. That sunny-summer-glow will certainly show through into your beautiful Orange County family Portraits. Third, the days are longer, giving us more hours in the day to meet up at a destination shot, or perhaps even shoot a great sunset engagement photo session. Lastly and most importantly, outdoor photos turn out so well and what other time of year can we count on the weather to be absolutely gorgeous then now?! Every summer day in Southern California is laced with beautiful sunshine and puffy white clouds what a perfectly natural backdrop for a great photo session!

So, lets talk location.... As with everything from your business to your home, the key to success is location, location, location! In Southern California we have access to MANY gorgeous beaches. There seems to be a beach for every personality and type of family. Are you a sporty fun family? Maybe think about grabbing all of your beach gear, surfboards and all, and heading to Trestles or Huntington Beaches. Here you can catch a glimpse at local surfers and rollerbladers. Wouldn't it be fun to get the whole family in their roller blades and let me catch some action shots of you all jetting down a scenic boardwalk??? The best pictures happen when everyone is having fun... this sure sounds like fun to me! Maybe you are more of the Hip/trendy kind of family. Perhaps Newport Beach photography is more up your alley. There is still access to a nice boardwalk full of the hustle and bustle of Newport's finest. There are many great spots in the area that we can explore and beautiful homes to set as a background. Laguna Beach photography is one of my favorites. This quiet, quaint little town has some very scenic beaches. With multi-million dollar home set high above the bluffs and stunning beaches for miles around, it's no wonder this beach attracts hundreds of photographers every year!

A final Orange County family photography note: HAVE FUN!!!! I mentioned this above, but I must reiterate. When you choose a spot that reflects your family best, they will be most comfortable there. Always bring some extra clothes for your little ones to beach shoots. We get some of our favorite shots when the family is splashing in the water! Don't be scared to let them get dirty, like in the above note, kids LOVE getting down and dirty in the sand... and it shows through in their BEAMING faces. Orange County Ladies Night Idea



What girl doesnt need and DESERVE a night out with the ladies??? All of these planned nights out seem to end up the same. A smart cocktail at a fancy bar or a spa-day. Not that these aren't great ways to spend time with your favorite gal-pals... but, if you happen to be looking for something new and different. How about a Boudior Photo Party? There are some really great email generated invitations you could use through evite. Plan on having your friends bring a couple of wardrobe changes, a couple bottles of wine (wink wink) and thier selection of make-up. You can spend an hour prior to your private boudior photo session getting all glammed up, and then I will come in and take your photos for you! Wouldnt this be a great idea to give the picture to your hubby on an anniversary or brithday... or show your sexy side "just because"! As an Orange County photographer I pride myself in my high standards for excellence, and I promise you wont be disappointed in this fabulous idea for a night out with the girls!

Rancho Capistrano-Orange County Wedding Venue Photography

In November of 2007, I had the priveledge of doing Gail and Mike's wedding photography at one of the most beautiful Orange County Wedding venues, Rancho Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano.
I had always wanted to photograph a wedding at Rancho Capistrano and was so excited to have the opportunity. Gail and Mike are a great couple and everyone was so happy to be part of their wedding nuptials.

Engagement Photography Orange County

June 7, 2008

I had the pleasure of doing the wedding photography for a beautiful couple by the name of Sean and Danielle. It was a fun fabulous wedding with wonderful friends and family. Some weeks prior to that we shot their Orange County engagement photos at the beach. They wanted to attempt a "Calvin Klein" look, laying in the water. We naturally chose to do this portion of the engagement session at the end. You can see by the photos the anticipation of the cold water, the SHOCK of that cold water and then ... the water didn't matter any more.

Southern California engagement photography is so fun because there are so many great places to shoot pictures. We have the convenience of local beaches, mountains, big cities and little ones too! Beautiful Baby Lily

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Lily for some Orange County newborn photos. Shooting babies is always such fun! Lily's parents brought with them some fresh lily's from their yard to use in their session.

I have a great love of the Anne Geddes Style of photography and decided this would be a great way of using the lily's to capture Lily. The photos turned out absolutely gorgeous! And Lily??? Well... she's a natural!

Fiesta de Agua celebrated at Oso Reservoir

I was recently hired by the Rancho Santa Margarita Water District to photograph their "Fiesta de Agua". What a lovely event focusing on water conservation! I enjoyed capturing the kids as there were many great activities to captivate their attention. Shooting children's photography in Orange County is so easy because there are so many DARLING children! This was a favorite shot from the day of the beautiful and brave Briana Bozych, age 2, who is sitting with her new friend Sally, an Asian Water Monitor.
